Tomato Soup
Soups are generally filling and good for health. Normally, I make soups using lamb/mutton chops, or chicken bones which I purchase along with my meats.
However, especially when in season, I will always purchase more tomatoes than usual to make tomato soup. The dish is very simple and quick to make. Not only that, as it is not spicy unlike other soups even little kids enjoy - especially the creamy texture and the sweet taste.
I tend to add a bit of cream, fresh basil leaves and a dash of pepper to enhance the flavor and taste. The dish is a very good choice for light lunch or dinner, alongside a grilled cheese or an avocado sandwich. I also like serving it with some sweet potato fries.
Tomatoes are mostly water, low in fat, carbs, and a great source of Vitamin C. Also, they can help promote healthy skin and vision. It can help boost immunity levels.
I would recommend adding this dish to your diets, at least once or twice a week and maybe more when tomatoes are in season. Tomato soup is liked by all, irrespective of their age, and honestly, who can disagree. It is scrumptious.
