One Pot Pasta
One of the worst thing about coming home from the gym or after a long day's work, is having to cook dinner. What's even worse? It's washing all the dishes used in the process. That's why I love one pot recipes. They're easy to prepare, and the cleanup is equally as simple.
One of my favorites is the heavy and hearty One Pot Beef Stroganoff. I enjoy cooking this dish for it's taste, and it's simplicity. Not only is it a quick fix, it's also a great date night meal, that my husband and I savor.
One pot pastas are great for those busy weeknights. These dishes work just as well on the weekends when we'd rather be spending time with the family, than stuck cooking meals in the kitchen all day.
My children love lasagna. To be honest, though, whose kids don't. However, I rarely made it for them because I felt it was such a hassle making the dish. That was until I came across this One Pot Lasagna, which changed my mind. While it was simple and easy to follow, the recipe also encapsulated the creamy richness and cheesy deliciousness of the lasagna, that my kids love.
Of course, one pot pastas don't all have to be rich and heavy. They can also be made light and healthy. In which case, the One Pot Chicken & Fennel Pasta is the perfect pre-and-post workout meal. The pasta is the source of carbohydrates that provide the energy for the workout, and replenish glucose in the muscles after exercise. Alongside this, the protein sauce can help repair and rebuild muscle tissues.
However, at the end of the day, the ingredients can be substituted based on preference. Choose a healthier option and go with a whole grain pasta. Or pick the shape of pasta the kids want. The meats can be substituted, and the cheeses skipped for a lighter end product just as easily. Or finish it off with some Tabasco, for the heat lovers.
