A Little Help
Everyone needs a little help sometimes. After all, no one is meant to go through life alone. If life has given you blessings, it's important to share those with others.
For some people, that could mean volunteering with a local charity or donating to a good cause.
For others, sharing blessings might be as simple as having a conversation with someone or lending emotional support to a friend who is going through a tough time. These Bible verses about helping others remind us that one crucial way to demonstrate your love for God is to take action here on Earth and help others.
Bringing the Lord's love to others is a powerful act. It may not always be easy, but as a person of faith, God calls upon you to serve others and bring his light to them.
Galatians 6:2 says "Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ."
Luke 6:31 says, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." - In other words, if you want to be treated with kindness, be kind to others.
"I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth." - Jeremiah 9:24
"But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great." - Luke 6:35
Helping others is not only good for them and a good thing to do, it also makes us happier and healthier too. Giving also connects us to others, creating stronger communities and helping to build a happier society for everyone. And it's not all about money - we can also give our time, ideas and energy.
Let us plan to help someone this week.
